If history holds, the version is usually dogfooded for 3-5 days and then out.  Unless there's a showstopper.  My guess is March 17, 3:15 am EDT.  About sunrise over the Emerald Isle on St. Patrick's Day.  :)

The roadmap the other day showed a release date of 3/14, but I don't see it out there now......

It looks like it will be soon.....but I think Jeff's estimate AND justification is much more inline.

Haha.. that's great. Thanks! I'm very Irish myself... if only I were there at sunrise.

Well if that's the case I will plan to upgrade my development site up to 4.8.2 (which is actually 4.6.2 currently, I accidentally said 4.7.0 earlier) and see how it runs. I might even use Load Runner on it to see how it behaves before upgrading production.

Thanks again, guys!

FYI: there is very little change between 4.8.1 and 4.8.2 as it's primarily to address 2 security issues (meaning we need relatively little dogfooding), so if all is well it should be out before the weekend.

Except for the script error (corrected via the blog post) I haven't had any issues with 4.8.1.  Just seems to purr along fine.  That could be because I'm using mostly core modules and a few very well supported and developed commercial ones.
