We are considering a CMS system for our existing websites for content management. How to manage content for existing websites ?

We have our own inbuilt authentication\Identity system.

How easy is it to make DotnetNuke work with our authentication system ? Is it possible ? Pl direct me to resources which would help me integrate this.

Unfortunately there's no real documentation done yet on how to implement your own provider (on my to do list) but if you look at the providers already available you should get a good idea of what's involved. Personally I'd look at OpenID, LiveID, and Cardspace before looking at the AD provider as it's not as straight forward as the other three.

That said, it is possible and is one of the reasons the providers were separated from the core. Now the providers can be "plugged in" just like a module can be without requiring a core code change.

there is some useful general information in the "abstracting membership and profile" and "membership provider" documents @ http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Documentation/tabid/478/Default.aspx , but I agree with Mike, the easiest way is to download and look at some of the other providers and use them as examples.
