1) In Host | Host settings the Host Email is used for the test.

2) In Admin | Site Settings | Advanced Settings | Other Settings | Administrator Account, the email from this account is used for that portal.

3) The email addresses must exist because they are used as the From address.

4) The relaying mail system may or may not allow From addresses from a different domain. smtp.domain1.com  From=spam@domain2.com

This is to prevent relaying spam from unkown email addresses.

I hope this is of some help to you.

I've found the mistake in the configuration.

If in the host email, you've filled in postmaster@mydomain.com

Then you need to use the same user in "SMTP Username: " and its corresponding password.

That works.

Thank you to the help desk of WebHost4Life who helped me to find.

This was a relay issue with the SMTP configuration.

IT finally, finally addressed the issue.  For those of you looking into this issue, the event viewer posting convinced them it was a server issue.

I would suggest sending that info to IT to remedy any issues you have.
