So, I can do a password reminder and username reminder for internal accounts.

But, not to external accounts. Our IT guru is checking the SMTP external configuration settings.

The email is coming from admin@admin.com. Should this be the email address the reminder comes from?

If not, where can I change it.

Anything else I should be aware of that would interfere with these being recieved by external email addresses?

Please send any thoughts. I am lost.

Thanks,

Hey ST1t8ch,

It may be that your external recipient is blocking the message because its from a fake server (or more accurateley its name is different than where it is being sent from).

The email address is defined in the portal administrator's profile, so try updating that user's email address to something valid (ideally the same as your actual domain name) and see how it goes

Take care,

Ian

Didn't work.

Any other quick fixes I am missing?

Another thing to check is the host email address under Host->Host Settings. By default it's set to @localhost or something similar. It should be a valid email address (or appear to be). EG: support@yourdomain.com

Someone suggested I remove the SMTP Username and Password from the host settings

Do these need to be included?

IF so, what do I use.  The host settings?

Probably just answered my own question.
