We have set up an installation of DNN 3.2.2 and it is working nicely except for the following puzzling problem:

if a new user registers, a system email is correctly sent to the admin email address informing us, but no email is sent to the new user informing him.

A test of the SMTP settings generates a successful email, and all settings seem to be in place, as attested to by the fact that a system email is received by us at the admin email address whenever a new user registers.

However, we are unable to determine why no email is being sent by the system to the new user informing him of his successful registration. Are we missing some setting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the Log Viewer for an error message right after you register a new user.  (Host-->Log Viewer).  You are probably getting a CDO error message.

I am having the same problem right now, and I am getting an error in the Log Viewer that says something to the effect that "this domain is not allowed to relay through..."

Thanks. Actually I discovered my problem! I had simply omitted to select the radio button for User Registration = verified, in Admin>Advanced Settings>Security Settings.

Once selected, the registration emails started flowing!
