Steve

Thanks for being so prompt in your response yesterday, I appreciate it.  I was wondering if you could help me. I am trying to migrate my data ( a bunch of links to external sites) but I can't seem to see how the respository works as a link directory. I've downloaded your latest version and set the template to "directory" but that doesn't seem to change anything and it still looks like a download repository. First can you tell me what I am doing wrong. I would like it to work exactly like the dotnetnuke repository. Secondly, I am planning to write a stored proceedure to grab my data from Santry and populate the repository, when you store a link as I would like to do does it go to the FileName field on grmRepositoryObjects. Thanks

To setup a resource directory page using the Repository module .. do the following ...

1. create a page to host your resource directory
2. add a Repository module to your page
3. set the Repository module settings as you wish, setup categories, etc, set the skin dropdown to 'directory'
4. click on update at the bottom of the setting page
5. add a Repository Dashboard module to the same page
6. set the Dashboard settings as you wish, set the repository dropdown to the repository module on the same page as the dashboard module
7. set the dashboard type to either 'Index single-column' if your dashboard will be in a narrow column like left or right, or 'Index multi-column' if the dashboard will span the width of the repository ( across the top like on dotnetnuke.com )

That should do it. If you upload items, you will be prompted to enter a title, description and URL ( there is no file uploaded with this skin )

To answer your second questions, yes, the URL of the link is stored in the Filename field in the grmRepositoryObjects table.

Again, thanks for the speedy response. I set up the respository exactly as you describe but it does not function as I would expect. When I insert a test record with a link the record still shows up with a download link next to the title and when I click it, it wants to open the downloader. Also the button on the respository reads "Upload". Is there something wrong with my installation?

Thanks

No, it's on a test server. I will send you a couple of screen shots sfabian@gooddogs.com to show you the problem.

Thanks
