Dean,

You need to confirm that he actually clicked the cancel button/link on the PayPal site and that it returned him to your website with no diversions on the way. This should have cancelled the enrollment. From his note he writes 'I cancelled'. Just need to check what he did.

There is an issue, (which I have tried hard to replicate, but have been unable to do), where the links sent to PayPal are malformed, such that it doesn't actually return to your site. The only way I have found of seeing that they are malformed in real life is by using the PayPal Sandbox and getting the complete url sent before you actually log on to the Sandbox. If you need more details, let me know.

Cheers
Roger

Ok Roger, i am definately not a web expert so we never tested in the sandbox and just decided to jump into the Atlantic Ocean in November. Well a user told me he registered for the summer event instead of the spring event. the spring event is listed as Confirmed:False and the summer as Confirmed:True. I told him to canel the third event and see if he can complete the 2nd event with the cancel button. His screenshot and reply was "no cancel feature available."

Is there something that has to be set to allow for cancel's by the end user? I looked over the events settings and didn't see anything. I am sure i am missing something. I saw the cancel hotclick on the event when i am moderator but i thought that was to remove the event entirely.

Thanks for all your help for this very green newbie.

Dean,

Sorry, I'm afraid you have me completely lost. I don't understand why doing anything with a Spring event should affect a Summer event. No idea what the third event is, or why you could complete the 2nd event with the cancel button. Where did he get the 'no cancel feature available' message. On the evnt module or on PayPal?

Confused....

There is no feature that allows people to unenroll, unless they do not complete the paypal process as I described earlier, by clicking cancel on the PayPal site whilst they are going through the orginal payment process. After enrollment, whether confirmed or not, it must be done by the event administrator.

I'd like to second this (allow end user to unenroll from event) as an enhancement. Perhaps only allow a user to self un-enroll if it is a zero cost event; this would eliminate the paypal issue. We are a volunteer organization that holds a lot of meetings (no cost) we'd like people to rsvp for them, but often plans change so they need to unenroll.

I registered on the support (Gemini) site to submit this, but default rights don't appear to allow me to do that, so I post it here in hopes a team member will consider it reasonable .

To the events team: Great work on the v4 of the Events module and impressive overall project management. I'll be rolling this out to my portals this week.

Hi Clint,

If you want to raise a new request, raise it against '** DNN Core Framework and Modules [ PUBLIC ] ** (DNNP)' and makes sure it includes Events in the title. Not very intuitive, but it works .

Cheers
