Hello, Everyone,

I have installed a new DNN 4.8.02. However now I meet a strange problem. When I created several categories and their sub categories in Repositroy Modules, the sub categories cannot be displayed in Dashboard Modules.

So what can I do so as to display the sub categories of categories? Could someone tell me ? I will feel grateful if you can tell me how to solve this problem. Thank you very much.

Best Regards.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same probelm.  Makes subcategories useless, IMO.  DNN 4.8.4, Repository 3.01.14.

"Makes subcategories useless, IMO"

let me know if you still feel that way once you understand how to use subcategories (see link in the previous post)

Hi Steve,

I found that link shortly after I posted.  My apologies for not digging a bit deeper first.

So with the tree form of category listing (yes, I did get it to work), you pretty much need to list it in a side panel for practical page layout (correct?).  I think what I was initially picturing was something more like the Categories (multi-column) option in the dashboard, where you could click on the various categories and the list would be replaced with the sub-categories (replaced, or added to).  It would be nice to have the option for a more horizontal layout to the dashboard where you could navigate through categories and sub-categories.

So to answer your question, no, I don't think the subcategories are useless, but maybe the navigation aspects could be more flexible.

Thanks!
