Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /sitename/Home/tabid/36/returnurl/ /Default.aspx

I have the site settings as Private.  The register link returns this error. Apparently people had similar issuesin the past.. but all the fixes I found seem to already be applied and make no difference.

Anyone know how to fix this in 4.08?

Make sure, the register page, specified in host settings has a register module placed on it.

If issues continue, please be more specific about your configuration.

Hmm what is a register module? I tried putting a User Account module in because it's the closest I could come up with.  This shows a registration screen right underneath the login screen... if the user is logged in, it shows their account info in the User Account module.  I'd only want the registration screen to show up if they want to register.  Also, the register link still does not work.

I initially reinstalled DNN after I couldn't get this to work the first time.  I did not see a "register page" specified in host settings, either.  I'm using 4.08.00 if that makes a dffference

sorry, register module is called correctly user accounts. Alternativly, user account is automatically injected, if the appropriate parameter "ctl=login" is part of the URL. This is usually achieved by the [register] token in the skin, but in Site Settings (!) there should be no page speecified, if no specific login page provided.

Thanks. I followed this advice. I changed the site settings to have "No Page Specified" for login and took out the Account Login module from the main page.  The register button does not give an error any longer.  Rather, it does nothing.

The task bar for the link says _doPostBack('dnn$dnnUSER$cmdRegister',") when I scroll over the register link.

I'm beginning to think this is a bug?
