Ok I've scoured dotnetnuke.com and the rest of the DNN community and come up empty.  I want to redirect the [TERMS] token to a specific Terms page that I created.  I am aware that I need to replace the [TERMS] token in my skin.xml file with the actual URL of the Terms page but nothing I have tried has worked.

Please can someone show me exactly how to replace the [TERMS] token with a URL?

Thanks a ton,

Troy

Is there a reason you can't just put the link in the skin? That's the usual method.

Even so, I do agree that it would be a useful enhancement if the prvacy and terms pages were able to be specified in Site Settings in the same manner as the login, user, and other pages are.

I don't see a need for another option - as Rob said, you can easily use a link and DNN 5 will add options to localize the link caption, if needed. Terms and Privacy are virtual pages, which display the HTML text, which can be adopted per portal using the language editor and can include images or whatever HTML you want.

The point of another option is in order to point portals to a specially created terms or privacy page containing other information in context. It would be good to be able to make use of the the existing tokens to direct to the special page. It would also avoid having to custom code the skins.. something which is not even possible if the skin is applied globally to multiple sites.

Guys... while I appreciate the philosophical discussion going on here... nobody has answered my question.

I have tried over and over to replace the [TERMS] token with a URL in my skin.xml file and nothing has worked so far.  I'd really appreciate it, and promise to be your best friend forever, if somone could simply show me how to replace the [TERMS] token with a URL while still maintaining the integrity of the "look and feel" of the footer link.  Perhaps I'm totally off-base and I don't need to edit the skin.xml file at all?

Thanks in advance

Troy
