Hi,

 

I wonder, how can I localize text in eg. Announcements module in multi-language portal?

 

I have two languages, Polish and English. I want to, change announcement text’s (not title, content text) depending on selected language. When I choose Polish, I want to have polish “news” in announcements, and when I will change language to English, I want to have “news” in English.

 

Can any one help me with that?

Out of the box you cannot do that with DNN. I have a free MLAnnouncements module available that lets you do exactly what you want, check here for more information: http://www.apollo-software.nl/DotNetNuke/Modules/FreeModules/tabid/83/Module583_SelectByID/414/Default.aspx

I can also recommend the Locopon's DNN portal site @ http://dnn.tiendaboliviana.com/
He has 2 fantastic controls there DSLocalizer and MMlinks. The localizer gives you a menu that allows you to change back and forth from the languages packs installed and the MMlink is a text html module that suppports a seperate set of text for each language installed.
