I know DNN 5 had slipped even before the efforts were redirected for 4.8.3/4 security fixes, but is there an updated timetable available anywhere?  Possibly discussed at OpenForce (which I was unable to attend)?  I ask because I have a client who is looking at a 4Q 2008 deployment and asked if the skins would support DNN 5 (They don't as of now, as far as I know...).

Thanks,

Jeff

DNN5 shall be publically avaliable in a few weeks, currently there are beta tests and a number of fixes still needs to be added for the public release.

FYI: Whilst there is an error with the code for legacy skins (pre dnn5) in the current beta, but this will be resolved. The intention is that skins, modules etc. will all function as per a normal dotnetnuke install

Awesome!  If only the other software producers I deal with paid as much attention to existing users.  (Are you listening Microsoft?).

To better answer your original question, we still don't have a good handle on the release date for DNN 5.0.  We are still working through testing to ensure we have addequately addressed the backwards compatibility issues.  As part of this effort we have made the latest beta release available to a large number of commercial skin and module developers to ensure that we have a good test pool of skins and modules available.  We'll try to keep the community informed as the final release date starts to firm up.
