Instructions to install the forum module are as follows:

Upload a New Module

  1. Navigate to Host > Module Definitions.
  2. In the Module Menu, click Upload New Module.
  3. Click the Browse button and select a file. (Alternatively, you may enter a fully qualified file. E.g. “c:\directory\file1.xml”)
  4. Click Add to add the file to the files to upload list.
  5. Click Upload New File. The Resource Upload Log will be displayed details of the success or failure of the upload.
  6. Click Return to return to the Module Definitions page.

-------------------------------

My question is:

Step #3 says to select a file, but never says which files should be selected. The Forum Module install package has many files in the downloaded zip file. There does not appear to be a way to select multiple files for upload, nor do the instructions specify what one(s) should be uploaded.

Can someone tell me what I missed in the docs?

It's THE zip file, not a file within the zip.

Ah... I see. The module developers may want to add a short note to that effect in the docs. The "forum" module docs don't specify which file to upload. In hindsight, I guess I probably should have tried that.

The standard procedure to upload modules is to use zips. It's detailed in the DNN documentation.

My question is this:  Is the forum module what this forum is running on?  I'm struggling to get a dnn site up for an organization I'm a member of, and one of the things I want for the site is a forum, and I was looking at YAF.  If this forum is running on the dnn forum module, I see no reason not to use this one.
