Note also that the previous may have used the ability to copy a single instance to multiple pages to save work. Check the module settings for one of the modules to see if 'display on all pages' is ticked. The person may also have used the control panel function to insert a module from another page. In all of these cases, updating the one module will change the contents in all places the module is displayed.

If you really want to do it quickly and cheaply, just inject custom HTML in to the skin template file. The HTML will automatically render on all pages that are using the modified skin.

I think the real problem is removing the existing ones.
