 I removed all the <httpModules> and put <compilation debug="true" strict="false"> in the web.config file and now i'm getting the following error.

Server Error in '/' Application.

Security Exception

Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy.  To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

It appears that your shared web hosting provider has set the WebHostingPermission to Low or Minimal Trust in the Machine.Config file. DNN as well as most ASP.Net applications require Medium Trust. I would discuss this with your hosting provider. BTW, you do need those HttpHandlers specified in web.config so cannot comment them out.

Thanks for the reply. I'll contact my hosting provider .

for the HttpHandlers i just commented them out so i could get some more info on what the problem is :P

The Host changed the trust level, but i'm still getting this error. Starting to run out of option here. Anyone any idea as to whats goin on?

R-J,

You're still getting the error you posted first about the permissions or the secondary error resulting from commenting out parts of your web.config? Also, I wouldn't comment out or remove any of those parts of your web.config - just need to resolve the initial error message.

If you're still getting an error about permissions I'd go back to your hosting provider and tell them whatever they did to change it didn't actually change it.
