I often see inline images (e.x. http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2008/07/14/asp-net-mvc-preview-4-release-part-1.aspx) in blog entries (lots of technical ones show code examples/screen shots).  How is this done with DNN blogs?

Thanks.

The best and easiest way to handle this is to use an offline blog editing client, like Windows Live Writer.  That's why we created metaPost (see my tagline below) and that's also why we added MetaWeblog support to the next release of the blog module which is currently in the release tracker.  Windows Live Writer makes the process of working with images *much* easier.  In fact, that's why we created metaPost, so you could use Windows Live Writer not just for blog posts but to manage as much of your DotNetNuke content as possible.

If your question is how do I do this with the FCK editor, then there's a button in the toolbar which you can use to upload images.  We're also re-introducing an image upload feature in the 3.5 release of the blog module which, again, will be out soon.

Thank you for the reply.  I wrote another blog last night with pics and had to do my fancy tricks again and realized I have to come back and see what the answer is for my questions (the emails to me don't seem to work when you post your replies :<).

Windows Live Writer?  I've heard of that but haven't see it yet.  I'll have to look at it later.  I've been concentrating on content for the time being, now that I have a few entries under my belt, I'll look at making it easier to write them.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I've read a lot about the new Blog engine, I can't wait for that to be released.  Will that be released with the new version of DNN or on it's own?

Thanks!

Hi PHenry,

yes, Windows Live Writer support really enhances the blog experience. The next version release will support it, and it will be released independantly form the DNN framework timeline, whwn the package will pass the release tracker.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

The new blog module is excellent. I have watched the training video, and it said you can add an image to a comment ( I know how to do this for a new post), but i cant find how to do this. Is there an html code to use, in the same way as <b> for bold etc?
