I've been getting a ton of these errors in my EventViewer after upgrading to DNN 4.9.3.  They all seem to be caused by bots (but they are all strange bots, not Yahoo, Google, or Microsoft).  Here are some examples:

UserAgent: FollowSite Bot ( http://www.followsite.com/bot.html )
UserAgent: kalooga/KaloogaBot (Kalooga; http://www.kalooga.com/info.html?page=crawler)
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Twiceler-0.9 http://www.cuil.com/twiceler/robot.html)

It's a shame the error log doesn't record the ip address of the bot that is hitting the site so it could be blocked.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this and how to prevent/fix it?

Supposedly this was fixed in 4.9.4:

http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=8892&PROJID=2

but I'm still experiencing the same error in 4.9.4.  Here are some of the crawlers that are causing it:

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; KaloogaBot; http://www.kalooga.com/info.html?page=crawler)
UserAgent: Servage Robot ( http://www.servage.net/page/robot/ )
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Twiceler-0.9 http://www.cuil.com/twiceler/robot.html)
UserAgent: FollowSite Bot ( http://www.followsite.com/bot.html )

I assume that even though this problem was not fixed in 4.9.4, we will not see a 4.9.5 that fixes it.

I guess I can also assume that this problem does not exist in DNN 5.x.

Doesn't appear to be fixed in 4.09.04??  My eventlogs are overrun with these messages, so much so that I can't even rely on them for reporting other issues :(

Same here - our log is over run with this same basic thing:

UserAgent: Baiduspider+(+http://www.baidu.com/search/spider.htm)
DefaultDataProvider: DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider, DotNetNuke.SqlDataProvider
ExceptionGUID: 4f8f8890-b254-4d7f-a9c0-6e6a7b4135a6
InnerException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: String

We just upgraded to 4.9.4, and also just changed skins to Nifos. I doubt the skin could be the problem, but that is about the same time we started to see this error.
