I am amazed to there isn't a  single useful response to this.
Many many people are affected.

FYI the great majority of these issues were related to browser file definitions, and were resolved in various 5.x releases. Upgrading to latest version should resolve this issue, if it does not please post back onto the thread.

Hi.  I'm posting this in case someone else is still supporting old 4.9.5 sites and has this problem with the Pingdom.com service.  Yes, I'm still supporting a couple of crusty, old DNN 4.9.5 sites for customers, and I use the Pingdom.com service to monitor them.  Pingdom hits each site every 60 seconds and causes the Page_Load_Exception errors on the DNN 4.9.5 sites.  Before you know it, the dbo.EventLog table is more than 1 GB!

My solution was to edit the Pindom configuration so that it uses a standard User-Agent string.  Here's the change:
Old String:  Pingdom.com_bot_version_1.4_(http://www.pingdom.com/)
New String: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080702 Firefox/2.0

Now the DNN 4.9.5 site thinks that someone with Firefox 2.0 on Windows XP is requesting the page, and it no longer blows up trying to look up the user-agent string.

See Ya!

DNN 4.x and 5.x are discontinued and should be upgraded to last Version.  This have to be done for codefixes and of course to highly security aspects.
