Hi All

I want to run .flv  file in DotNetNuke.  For this I have added flv in File Upload Extensions:  textbox (Host > Host Settings > Advanced Settings > Other Settings > File Upload Extensions: ). But I cannot upload any .flv file. Everytime I want to upload any .flv file(File Manager > Upload), page becomes blank. Does DotNetNuke support uploading/running .flv file.

Thanks & Regards.

syscron,

Probably the FLV file is rather large in terms of file sizes for the web.

This link talks about making modifications to the web.config so that you can upload larger files.  http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/54/threadid/149580/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Secondly,

Are you sure you want to upload an FLV file?  I think you might want to upload the SWF file rather than the FLV, however your the boss, boss.  :)

Besides the file size limitation that might be happening on your web.config, you also need to make sure that it's an acceptable mime type on your server.

Hi Stuart

You are right. The file size of .flv was large for DotNetNuke.  But I have run .flv of 40 MB in asp.net.  Anyway I have succeeded to upload .flv of small size.  I will check how to upload large file.

For your second reply, I need to upload .flv file. Actually I have a .swf file, which will dynamically load several .flv file. When user wants to see a particular movie, that particular movie will run. If I  would embed the movie in the .swf file, the file would be large. In Joomla! there are free  component to run the .flv file.  But in DotNetNuke I have not found any.  Anyway , as flv file is running in DotNetNuke, so anyone can make the movie gallery. Thank you for your help.

Can you use the text/Html module to embed the swf file on your page?
