About the forum is a very big module with much code, we can not give real a timestamp.  We are over the timestamp we give us.  So we had not real a care timestamp to give you.  Sorry.

I think it would be nice to have some inkling of when the next release could be expected as a "ball-park" figure.  Last time anything went into the release tracker on this was back in February 2008 (the 11th, I believe).  Since then nothing new has really surfaced in the project blog or otherwise.  Seems like if the beta failed the release tracker 7 months ago it should be about time for a new release to be ready, whether there is a lot of code or not.  There are a certain set of changes slotted for any release and those changes should be the ones focused on.  No new features or bug fixes should be introduced because, as we see here, that just extends the release date indefinitely and makes you "over the timestamp".

So for our benefit we would love to have some sort of inkling when the next release should be entering the release tracker and a stop will be put on "feature bloat" for that release.  The module is great and I'm sure a lot of us have been on the edge of our seats anxiously awaiting a new release.

I have to agree with the previous poster.  We all know how much work and effort is needed to release something like this, but the module is nothing without users.  More and more poeple will start moving to something like Active Forums if something does not happen soon.  Just a ballpark would be great.  This year?

I have been waiting for over a year for this module release. OMG, its only a bug fix release too. I've already started looking around for other options.

It is quite frustrating for many of us... I'm sure it was over 6 months ago now I asked and had been told "soon".

More than trying to add features, or keep up with all the other forum software out there - all I was hoping for was a bug fix as even some basic things like notifications just don't work (though they did in the past).

Unfortunately I'm not a developer... but is it extremely time consuming to fix a bug here & there and release a minor update, or is it really necessary to drag it out with all the bugs for 6-12 months?

Another anxious person here waiting to know when a release might be (nothing in the Project Release Tracker which I keep getting told to look at!)
