I understand the furum teams pain, i really truely do as i am webmaster for two non profit sites and one of them has a few people that are truely a pain in the butt thinknig they know how to run a site and what the intricates are involved for what they need. They want the world... But the world is not enough (trademark whoever makes james bond movie)

With that said i looked a Gemini to see if i could find out how well the forum module is progressing. There is 10 currently unassigned , non checked in requests. Of those 10 6 are new feature that were assigned at 12/15 and 4 are enhancements.

My question is, Is this the final line drawn in the sand as to what features and enhancements are going to be for the 4.5.0 release? The reason i ask is i see that Chris has added them to the issue log on 12/15/08 to document. What a team wants in a release is up to them but if new features and enhancements are constantly added then a release will never make it (As we all are well aware of being in the IT developement market so nothing new here to those in the know)

Mattias, I do not envy you in the slightest and i do not know how you do it. I am tryin to juggle work, the non profit webmaster, and my masonic lodge duties, and college. Can't imagine trying to help with THREE prjects and real life. If you are married, your wife must be a saint! (and Chris's i am sure, sorry if any other prject members are missed, they are the only two i know of currently)

I can only imagine how complex this code is , i have not coded since before pre visual basic days so i would only know the logic flow. One hope is oneday the Forum module team will have a dozen members on the forum team to work on it.

Thank you,

Dean

I think a lot of the confusion might be that some of the action takes place over here as well:

No Alex. There are no answers there either.  It is radio silence at this point...

I also have no news, but please understand, that this BIG project have a very small team, which makes it sometimes very hard to to bring all up.  At time personaly I am busy to about I started with a new job on the end of last year.  And I also think that the rest of the team is busy by his job or other priority thinks.

Looks like.. if you need an updated forum module... fly away

Agree with Matthias, this is a BIG project with a very small team, but I offer my help many times to Chris, and I am not the first one willing to spend the "free" time...the truth is the team want to be a very small team (dot).

There are couple of good choices around DNN, but I am seriously thinking to create a free forum module for DNN.

Have a great 2009!
