OK I have found the problem. PayPal will not complete the IPN if the product name is in non ENGLISH characters, even with the charset set to UTF-8. FYI I am using Japanese.

Hi Mark,

Great! At last we have another "documented" problem with PayPal. Did you ask PayPal support about this problem?

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi,

I know this is a very old post, but I to am trying to implement the built in IPN that DNN provides.  I have a valid account but when I test in the sandbox with my url, it fails...  can you provide a simple example of what the url should look like and also if there needs to be some other changes made to the file?

Sorry for the newbie question

Hi Raynell,

Do you talk about the Core PayPal provider used to manage paying roles or the Store module PayPal provider? If your problem is related to the Store module, please read my response in this post.
