Hello:

We are currently using DNN to develop our new Government site and have run into a road block: the file manager. We have folders for each department. Roles and users for each department, and have those roles and users only seeing the folder for their departments, however, they can all still see the root. Is there a way to either:

a. remove it from the dropdown during an upload
b. make a different folder the default

Our fear is users who do not take the time to make sure they are in the right folder uploading a bunch of junk to the portal root.

Thanks

You're correct to be concerned and to want to do it right.

Click on the portal root, un-check read and write permissions for everyone and hit update. It's exactly the same as the steps you've taken thus far. DNN will ensure that those roles no longer see the root and only see their own folders.

Rob
