I am very new to Dotnetnuke and would be grateful for any help I can get. I have been told that I can not upgrade from Dotnetnuke version 03.03.04 because I will loose my web site and have to start over.   Has anyone else had the same problem?

you can safely upgrade, if there are uptodate versions of all modules used in your installation, for 3rd party modules please check the home page of the vendors/developers.

You might follow these upgrade receipt, I suggest to upgrade in multiple steps via DNN 4.3.7 and 4.4.1 to current version 4.9.0.

Future upgrades from 4.9.0 to later versions will require to unzip files only.

Thanks you for your help, I will try this.  We were also told that the critical error problem we are having we have when trying to open some of the pdf or word docs uploaded onto DNN file manager is also related to the version of DNN we have.  Is this a known problem?  again any help is much appreciated.

Sarah
