Hi,

I am having trouble setting up the search module (input and results).

The problem I am getting is that the search module will pass on to the search result module page.  However, the search results module is blank.  When I log in as host, the search results will display the search results.

Is there a setting I need to change in the module?

just to make sure: are the modules you are trying to search content in all visible for non authenticated users? Search results will honor module permissions

Hi ErikVB,

Yup, the view module permission is inherited from the page.  Non authenticated users can view the page.

I try disable the inherit function and manually set the permission of the view module for non authenticated users.  The search page will pass on to the search result page.  The search result module is blank.

Thanks,

Cliff

you cannot grant view permissions for a module without view permission for the page, both are required to list the module in search results.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your comment.

Here is the permission set on the pages and the modules.

Search page  permission - view to all users

Search Module permission - view to all users

----

Search result page permission - view to all users

Search Results Module permission - view to all users.

Do i need to restart the application to have the search working?  On the search module settings => Search Input Settings, it links to the Search result module.

Thanks,
Cliff
