Hi all,

I was just wondering if it is possible to change the Linkclick message "You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File" when a non-member tries to access a document via Document's Module?

Cheers,

I was getting this issue after upgrading to DNN 4.9 on a site. It was in a text html module with links to pdf files. All file links added after the upgrade would give the "You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File" error for users not logged in.

I then could get it to work by changing permissions for that folder through admin->file manager. I tried changing the portal root permission, then recursive sync files and it does not give the permissions to folders below it. It does however give the permission to newly created folders.

This is a confusing pain for the client as they have tons of pdf files in dozens of folders.

What should I do? I did see this post on it. (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/12/threadid/64157/scope/posts/threadpage/2/Default.aspx) Will that still work on 4.9 you think? Is this a bug?

What does this have to do with linkclick.aspx?

Thanks,

In regards to the specific question, you should be able to change the LinKClick.aspx text using the LinkClick.aspx.resx file, or since LinkClick.aspx doesn't actually exist it might be in SharedResources or GlobalResources, but there should be a localization key for it.  However, that would NOT be specific to a documents module link, it would be for any link.

I would also work to validate the permissions on the folder to ensure they are ok.

I agree, Mitch is right on, that folder/file permissions are definately the first place to check, but after that, if there are still problems, do follow the logic/info regarding file sync in the admin/host file manager that's referenced in the link from J Morrisette as that was eXACTLY the problem that we ran into, and a quick sync fixed the problem instantly!
