Exactly the same problem with C#, It looks like CommandButton Works fine in VB.

Have a look on this:
 
CommandButton works well if you use the Handles keyword in the event handler declaration but not with AutoEventWireup that I use in C#, not even with explicit event binding in C# style (x.Click += new System.EventHandler(y)).

I’ve changed my module to not use the CommandButton control and combine an imagebutton plus a linkbutton and it works fine.
