Hi,

Has anyone got an answer for this?

I am logging on to my portal as host/superuser and want to create a new portal within the host menu. Each time I complete the details I get the same response "The answer specified is invalid. Please specify a valid answer to the question"

I have re-tried to complete the form using both .co.uk and .com suffixes for the new domains; which were registered last week. I am currently running DNN 04.08.00 and I have not yet upgraded to 4.09.

I already have another portal running under DNN on a dedicated server and that works fine. Is there any reason why I cannot create a portal called ukbikereg.co.uk?

Please help a relative Newbie.

You should be able to complete the portal. Portal Alias, Template and all of the security settings are required. Which item are you getting the error on?

Hi John,

There isn't any validation error showing on any of the mandatory fields; it just provides the response at the top of the form. I initially set up a new domain via remote access to my matrix server application, I then logged on to the server and removed it from IIS and then accessed my DNN site as superuser to create the new  portal.

Would there have been any major changes in subsequent upgrades to necessitate further changes to host settings etc.?

Regards

Martin

There are not any significant changes I can think of. Can you upgrade the site to 4.9 and try?

did you modify settings for the asp.net membership provider to include question and answer? this might not be implemented for the admin user account, which needs to be created during portal setup.
