Michael,

this sounds very strange, especially you should get a confirmation mail. Please check you mail server configuration, maybe it does not allow relay mails. Try entering an email directly into the text box, this has to get out, regardless of roles and (hidden) language selection.

Cheers from Germany,

Trust me Sebastian, it is doing my head in....

The e-mail is fine as I tried it on my 4.3 site (hosted by the same company and to the same e-mail account) and it comes through fine (newsletter module works well)

I have tried as you requested and still no luck, which makes me think that the module is stuffed. Is it possible to remove the Newsletter module, then re-install it?

If so, where would I get a copy of the module from?

This is a known issue fixed in DNN5, you are not sending out emails at all and need to check your SMTP in Host Settings.

Thank you Alex and Sebastian.

After reading the article it all kicked in to place. I had settings sorted for one account but not the other. I found the SMTP settings by logging in as HOST, then selecting HOST SETTINGS and then ADVANCED; finally SMTP settings – changing them then clicking the update button

Thanks you all for your help and assistance, much appreciated

Michael
