Hi Danny,

When you create a parent portal in DotNetNuke, you need to point the url to the root of the installation of DNN not to the folder that DNN creates in it's folder structure.  The easiest way to do it is to use the same website that hosts the current DNN installation and simply add the Domain that will be associated with that parent portal to that website as an alias binding.

It will depend on whether you are using IIS 7 or 6 in how this is done.
