You might try polling your sites using /keepalive.aspx ?

Alex: you are on the wrong trail.

Yes, on a X86 machine, any 32bit Windows use about 3 GB max, see computer info. you will be able to use full 4GB, if you switch to 64bit OS version.

I am not sure though, if this is the cause of your problem, try to trace memory consumption and check the windows log, maybe there is another issue causing your app pool to recycle.

I am using process explorer and I am monitoring the 'private bytes' column for the w3wp processes (can provide screenshot). It looks like the maximum used memory setting for an application pool is mapped to the Private bytes. So when the private bytes reaches the memory limit set in application pool, the worker recycles.

The windows event viewer says only the the application pool has reached its privatebyte memory limit and is recycling.

Any idea where I can start looking ?
