I'm have an instance of XMod on my DNN site (XMod 5.1 and DNN 4.08.04) and I'm trying to edit it.  When I click "edit", this is the error I get:

I'm pretty much stumped, no solution I've found seems to help.  Any suggestions?

Try disabling AJAX in Host/Host Settings for while to see if this makes a difference (probably not but try it). I'd try XMOD's forums if you get no further joy here.
