Good to hear! I really don't think it is appropriate to have any sort of branding on a paid product that can't be removed.

You didn't scratch the paint off your car when you removed the emblems did you? :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  We originally made it difficult to remove because of how it was being abused.  We found that the people that wanted it removed were trying to pass it off as their own product, resell it or hide the price from their customers.  We found that this was mainly happening with the < $100 versions.  We eventually became more flexible with the enterprise edition.

Well, if it's my car and I bought it I should be able to scratch off the emblem if I want to (especially if I am rebranding it as a PokerDIY car)  ;)

I just would not expect this to be On by default for an Enterprise customer, I remember Bizmodules did the same thing and removed it after the first version because too many people complained. I dislike CSS hacks (which is what I was going to do anyway until I found the post you are talking about here) - so I would prefer a setting giving me the option, but yes, that is just my opinion.

In my experience it's highly common for forum software to display what it is, I do however see both sides of the argument.

That being said, if you don't want to scratch the paint on your car removing the badges, a lot of them are just held on with double sided tape. Take some dental floss and a heat gun/hair dryer. Heat up the badge/tape, then run the dental floss underneath to remove. After that use some Goo Gone and a clean towel.

This generally works on small badges, dealer badges, a larger Make logo usually has pegs or something going through to body that will leave holes needing filled.

Just an FYI, always glad to help with the car stuff.

That's exactly right.   We are not preventing you from "scratching off our emblem", but we aren't going to do it for you either.  The majority of other forum vendors (not dnn modules) actually charge a fee for you to remove any branding.  Some don't let you do it all.

It's been this way since our first release over 4 years ago.  Even when it was hardcoded in the build, we would work with customers in certain circumstances to remove it.  We always helped any enterprise customer that asked through a support ticket how to hide it.
