Hi,

 

Can anyone please guide me to upgrade from 4.7 to 4.9 or 5.0?

Iam currently using 4.7 version along with my custom modules. i want to port the complete portal to 4.9 or 5.0.

DNN 5.0 is not officially released yet, the currently available download is RC2, it is NOT recommended to use this version in a production environment yet. You are encouraged to upgrade to 4.9.0

Having said that: if you are creating your own modules, now is the time to test them with dnn 5, so if there is anything wrong, we have still time to fix :)

Thanks Erik for the reply.

I have tested my custom modules in 5.0 and they are working. But i dont know how to upgrade my existing website to dnn 5.0

If you're running on 4.7, you can simply extract the 4.9 UPGRADE package over your existing files, DNN will handle the rest on the next web request.

You might be able to do the same with 5.0 RC2, but I would just go to 4.9 for now.
