I have a website (www.scaremenot.com) that uses an SSL certificate from Verisign. I have tested it in Windows XP on various browsers and the certificate logo appears and is able to be verified. However, on all browsers in Windows Vista the logo does not show up and the cetrificate cannot be verified. This only seems to be a problem on Vista if the site is a DNN site. The certificate logo is on my home page at the bottom if you want to test it.

Any help would be greatly apprciated.
Thanks.

Because you're using an Extended Validation certificate rather than a standard SSL cert, you need to update the root certificates for the computer you're having problems with via Windows Update.  I ran into this problem with one of my web sites and when I inquired with Versign about it, they explained that is just the way it works so we've opted not to use EV certs on our other sites for now.  Verisign does offer a javascript app that will detect whether or not the browser's root certificates have been updated or not, but most users probably have no idea what that means.

Update the root certificates on my web server or the vista machine?
Do you know why this is only a Vista and DNN issue? I have been to other sites using the Vista machine that have Verisign but are not DNN sites and they work fine.

I also have another website that is using a standard Verisign certificate and it has the same problem so I think there is some other issue at hand.

Theorhetically, the issue I'm describing could affect standard SSL certificates also if they were signed using a newer root certificate.  And I mean that you have to update your root certs on the client, not your web server.
