Hi,

I get this error occasionally when editing language strings in the Language Editor - it seems to replace my root with [portalurl]

This webpage is not available.

The webpage athttp://[portalurl]/Admin/Languages/tabid/371/ctl/language/mid/1196/Default.aspxmight be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Error 300 (net::ERR_INVALID_URL): Unknown error.

Anyone know what causes this and how to get around it? (the changes are not saved)

Hi Rod,

I have used the language editor a lot, doing all the German Language packs, and found it to be painfully slow, but did not encounter the error you've got. did you check file permissions - only idea I've got for the moment. Which is your portal path?

Hi Sebastian,

I find it is a lot quicker using Chrome, but still a bit slow. I use it a lot too (although only to customize, not to translate) - it only seems to happen randomly (I can't see a pattern to it) and it works fine if I drill into the single language string and edit it, but not at the top level (so it is not too serious).

Rod, please note, that Chrome is not officially supported and has not been available, when this feature was implemented. are you using beta or final version of the browser?

I can't remember which browser I was using at the time - I was just saying Chrome (non-beta) seems to handle the Jscript treestructure a lot better and makes editing easier. I'll use FF for the next couple of times and report it if it still happens.
