Hi.

I would like to change "registered user" to "registered member."   I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Steven

The DB table "ROLES" contains the rolename and description.  You can easily change this table's values from "Registered Users" to "Registered Members" but I'd be very surprised if you didn't run into issues with third-party modules (and perhaps even a core module or two) that were hard-coded to check for the role name "Registered Users" instead of checking for the RoleID value as they should (well for that role, at least, since it is always a RoleID value of "1").

"Registered Users" has been a fundamental role in DNN for so long that I'd be wary of changing the name without a lot of validation testing before making the change on a production copy of DNN.

mamlin, since roles are portal specific, you cannot rely on a specific ID. you need to get the registeredUsers role from current portal settings.

Thank you both; I guess I'm best off living with "Registered Users."
