Yes, it registered successfully.  Some of my zips are compressed with WinRAR.  I'll redo them with WinZip and see if that helps.

Thanks for the program!

Nice script Paul!

Just out of curiousity, where did you find the information for the 5.0 installer package format. I've seen a few blog posts here and there but can't seem to locate a definitive spec anywhere.

I've been messing around with a sample installer today but I'm getting Object reference not set to an instance of an object error when installing it in DNN 5.0. If I just leave my old format the module installs fine. Without a proper spec published I think it's going to be hard to debug the problem.

Richard,

I solved the lack of documentation by using the 5.0. to make a extention package of a module it works fine and you get the structure.

Just take a module and start the wizard and you will get it.

Richard,

The problem of the object error is probably related to the component element - the type must be either "Skin" or "Container" - case sensitive - so type="skin" will cause an object error.  I have created a support ticket on this issue.  The lack of a valid type should be handled.

As for doco on the manifest file ... I looked at the install manifests located in the Install directory of the RCs and final release of DNN V5.  The .resource files are just zip files, so I renamed them, then when hunting for the .dnn file.   I also looked at the vb source of the installers in the Source version of DNN V5.  A bit of reverse engineering to discover what is required.

Assuming they worked, it was a case of trail and error to build a working VBscript.

Biggest issue I had was ensuring the case was correct -- for example -- skinFile, skinFiles, containerFile, and containerFiles along with the type = "Skin" or "Container" were the worst problem I encountered.

Paul.
