On my zipped file I have html file, license.txt, releasenotes.txt, css file, and images folder. I clicked install new skin, selected the .rar file and clicked next. Then I get this error " A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. "

So I created another .rar file from the existing skin folder in DNN. I took home.html, license.txt, releasenotes.txt, css file and images folder. Again it gave the same error.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Is there a tutorial anywhere I can find?

thanks

- RAR is not a supported archive formate

- for details regarding skin formats, please check out the Skinning guide you may obtain from Resources > Documentation > Downloads menu item above.

- there is currently no documentation for new DNN5 skin package format (under construction).

Instead of RARing it, just ZIP it up and send it.

While "rar" is not a valid extension package type (we use zip), the system should have given you a more graceful error :)
