Kevin,

it is a major aim of the core team to have all stakeholders' (users, admins, developers, designers, ...) needs in mind and to get the best outcome of our limited resources. Not to introduce breaking changes is one of the guide lines, whe have identified as a main need of most of the users.

Besides, it is up to the community, to provide us not only with your needs, but also with the necessary support, so we can improve developement progess of the framework.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Have to bump this up because I'm runnin into the same issue with 4.4.1. Has there been a viable solution for this? It looks like this bug was discovered a while ago and I'm hoping that it has been resolved.

This is a desired enhancement, but there is no bug - compiling sites is currently just not supported by DNN framework.

Hi Sebastian,

When http://www.ServiceAndHelp.com comes online around 3/17/2007 you might consider using it (a tool) and announcing a DotNetNuke Chief Architect / Quality Assurance Lead who will use the new type bug reporting tools to ensure the following:
(*)  Immediate classification before sunset of reported items (one mans show stopper is another mans nice to have)
(*)  Roadmap planning (specifying exactly which release ... or no release... the item will be packaged into).
(*)  Make assignement, follow-up
(*)  Implement and get SERVICE RATINGS / SCORES from the user community on was the bug or enhancement added without causing collateral damage in other DNN  areas (by accident).    http://www.ServiceAndHelp.com is being designed to have rock solid QA methodologies / protocols and after completion let the end user community rate both the QUALITY of service and the TIMELINESS of service (in programming and even high level things like running governments).

Anyway something to think about.

Thank you and the DotNetNuke team for a great product and a price that is hard to believe (free).   Keep up the good work!!!

Hello!

I have run into the precompilation problem recently. As far as I understand there is not much progress here. Maybe we (DNN community) could contribute and help to add this desired feature to our beloved DotNetNuke?

It would be great if someone experienced in DNN localization implementation could briefly outline how it works now and why the suggested fix (changing line 62 in Localization.vb) does not work. That information would help to understand whether we could develop a fix in a reasonable way.

Thanks to everyone. Looking forward to response from DNN gurus.

Just wondering if there has been any progress on this issue of not being able to deploy pre-complied DNN sites with out introducing the little hack from one the earliest posts on this thread.

We have a policy of ONLY deploying pre-complied sites out to our production webservers, but are very keen on DNN & at the same time reluctant to employ small hacks to get things to work. Is there any hope that this will be resolved in future releases?

Cheers Wayne
