Tom,

you should not need to modify the upgrade script to run it (but you need to check the "run as script" box).

if there are errors, please post them here to get it analysed.

What did you get displayed, when you query the versions table, as I told you before?

Hello, thank you for explaining...I will try this again tomorrow during the day and post my results, whatever they are.

The versions table query only goes as far as 4.9.0, no display of anything pertaining to 4.9.1.

Thank you, Tom

Today I went through everything again:

1. copied all 4.9.1 files into DNN directory

2. started IE 7.x, got the same 404 for the upgrade mode of install

3. closed out, logged in as host and ran the 4.9.1 sql provider as a script

4. DNN said the query ran successfully, host settings show 4.9.1 version, IE came right up without going into upgrade mode

5. no log file for the script having run, though

6. the version table still does not show 4.9.1 when viewing it it in SQL Manager

Now I am not sure if I really am up to 4.9.1 or not...but I am going to leave things as is and hope for the best, as well as save a copy of the VM as it was before I ran the upgrade etc.

Thank you, Tom

Have you tried without the mode parameter -> www.yoursite/Install/install.aspx?

I've personally stoped using the mode=upgrade after v. 4.8.something.

Or maybe 4.9.0 not sure but it works for me.

I am having this same issue going from 4.9.0 to 4.9.1. I have just upgraded several installs, but this one just gives a 404 with and without the mode. The page opens fine and the site still works but the version table shows 4.9.0.

I have Ali Cart on this site. Is there anything related to it that might cause this issue?

Thanks.

UPDATE:

I just remembered that this is a URL Master issue from ifinity.

I had to go into Host / Friendly URL Settings and Revert back to the standard DNN friendly urls.

Once the upgrade was done, go back and apply changes to revert back to the URL Master friendly urls.
