The Edit permissions in the module settings are where you need to look ("settings" from the dropdown at the top left of the module).

I ticked edit permissions on "registered users" and now all of my registered users can add topics and post replys.

They do not have permission to edit the module. Only Admin users can edit, move or delete the forum module.

I can understand that this causes confusion, because with every other module the edit settings determine who has permission to edit the complete module including deleting and moving it.

I hope this answers your query.

well if you check "edit" permissions to registered users, it is quite sure that they can edit it completely, so it means that they can delete posts also. I have tryed to check "edit" for registered users, and they can do everything that admin can do with posts. So is there any possibility to deal with this problem?

By simply adding Edit Permissions for the forum module to the Registered Users, using a test user that only belongs to that role, there's no way to edit or delete posts. It's pretty certain you are doing something wrong.

Right now a user can edit their own posts. The system is lacking a way to stop this at this time and at the very least I plan to support only trusted users editing their own posts. One thing the module DOES do is prevent users from editing the posts of others unless the following conditions apply:

  • The user is a tab administrator
  • The user is a site Administrator
  • The user is a moderator, they can edit posts of any forums which are moderated and they are moderators of.
  • The user can edit their own post.
