What happens if you:
a) Upgrade to latest version
b) Remove

... Effority's module?

You might wish to contact Effority to see if this is a know issue.

I notice ManageUsers.ascx.vb is effected so this could be the smoking gun.

Effority User Directory does not at all affect DNN user management. UD however requires you to use ASP.Net 3.5 and LINQ - maybe there is a configuration issue. Sorry, but it is hard to detect without hands on the installation.

Sebastian, would it be possible for a third party module to use a duplicate namespace? Or is that irrelevant (not possible)?

Anyway, that was my line of thinking here (i.e. some conflict of namespace with what ManageUsers.ascx.vb is using, as both use the word "users" and a similar namespace could have be constructed causing the issue, if you see what I mean).

Cheers.

First thanks again to both of you for your effort to help.

Regarding Efforiy UD, since my provider is still at .Net 2.0 I'm using version 1.0.03, not the latest one, however I already removed it, but as expected it doesn't change anything.

I also upgraded to 4.9.1, it helps for a while but when I made another try to edit GlobalResources.he-IL.Portal-0.resx the problem popped again. Note that in all cases I edited just one field that is "EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_PUBLIC_BODY.Text". In my effort to understand what's on I downloaded all files to my local PC and compare with the backup I did just before I editing the resource, files and folders were 100% identical. Then I tried to restore the db but the problem persists so I’m really despaired.

Sebastian is it an option that I'll send you access details to my site so you can have a look, I hope I'm not asking for too much.

Thanks,

OrenG
