I start to question my DNN installation and the integrity of the database.

1.      The scheduler often stops and locked users are not unlocked after 20 minutes.
2.      Some scheduled jobs will not run – no errors in the eventlog (SchedularHistory full or locked for some reason).
3.      Posted content: modules, images, articles, announcement etc disappears without any error or warning. No files are deleted.
4.      Password change wont apply for some users.
5.      Random errors when editing different modules.

So basically something is rotten ..

Question:
- is there any tool for validating the database and the DNN installation I general, and fix any errors?
- If I want to create at new clean 4.9.1 installation, is there at any easy way to export/import complete user-profiles (including passwords) from a DNN version 4.5.x?

  1. what is your scheduler mode (see host settings :: advanced settings :: other settings)? if you are in request mode, the scheduler is triggered, whenever a page is browsed by any user
  2. did you check, that the jobs are enabled? what are the names of the jobs? please do only enable jobs you need
  3. what do you mean by "disappear"? are they deleted (look in recycle bin), do they diappear one by one or in bunches? only the latest additions or the oldest? do some re-appear after some time?
  4. what happens - do they get an error? is there any associated item in the event viewer?
  5. please post the details of the error

I haven't heared of such a behaviour before, but it sounds strange to be caused by database problems. Which modules do you have installed?

I would try to identify the errors first before restarting from scratch.

1.       Scheduler mode is set to "Timer Method".
2.       Only the default jobs are enabled, “PurgeUsersOnline, PurgeSiteLog, PurgeScheduleHistory, PurgeLogBuffer, SearchEngineSchedulerm SynchronizeFileSystem and eventNotification”. PurgeCache, SendLogNotification, StartEmailQueuedTasks and CleanupEmailQueuedTasks are not enabled.
3.       They are not deleted. From time to time a module, often the Text/HTML or the SuperSKa Picture gallery, disappears from a page or the content suddenly is changed back to an early version or completely disappears. They never reappear, its often new added modules to a page that shows this behaviour.  The module and it contend might have been added month ago and never changed since.
4.       Some one just brows the site at notice that some information are missing. There are no traces of any errors in the eventlog at all. There are no users with any editorial or admin rights that had accessed the portal in the timeframe where modules start to disappear.
5.   Only type of errors i can find are:
