That is exactly what I have been following but it does tell me how to install for DNN5.

Hi Howard,

using the WSP model in DNN5 I didn't find any difference from DNN4:

  1. Create controls and code-behind using whatever you like VS, VWD, notepad;
  2. Create module with built in wizard in Host > Module definitions;
  3. Add module definition;
  4. Add controls;
  5. Add the module to the page.

Where do you stop?

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Dario,

I'm experiencing similar troubles.  I was using this Tutorial.  The part I am stuck on is after you create the user control and you are supposed to register the module.

When I go to Host > Module Definitions, I don't see dropdown menu like they describe that has a "Create New Module" option.  "Admin" and "Host" both drop down a list of options when I hover over them, but "Module Definitions" does not, and there is no black arrow as they describe to bring up the list either.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

In DNN 5.1, there should be a "Module Definitions" item in Host menu, but nevertheless you may use "Add Extensions" in Host :: Extensions  menu item. You need to enter an endless list of meta information before the package gets created.

Sebastian,

Thanks for the quick response!

But alas, I see no "Add Extensions" when I am at the Host::Extensions page.  There are little pencil and X icons next to all the existing items, but nowhere do I see any options for adding anything new.
