I'm unable to install DNN 5.0.0 on SQL Server 2008 Enterprise and Windows Server 2008 Enterprise.

When running the installer I chose "Custom" type install.  The permissions and database connection tests OK, but after pressing "Next" to perform the install the installer shows the following error:

Installing Database - Version 5.0.0...FAILURE 400 - The stored procedure 'dbo.dev-or_UpdateDatabaseVersionAndName' doesn't exist.

At that point the install "progress bar" just continues to cycle and after a good half hour I gave up.  Hitting the back button and trying to run the installer again failed.

Any suggestions?

Yes, makes sure your file permissions are set all the way down the folders (the file test only handles parent folder at the moment unfortunately), that Network Service account is set as a permissions (see install instructions all over the net), that you have a new database, not one you tried to install twice on, and I recommend waiting for 5.0.1 rather than leap into 5.0.0

Is there a target release for full SQL Server 2008 compatiblity?

I'll try a manual install, or revert to 4.9.x until that's ready.

I don't think there are any issues with SQL 2008, not sure about the express version (maybe people who have successfully installed with the express 2008 version can post here).... but make sure you select the default express database when you install DNN. i.e.:

Maybee the database is an case sensitive installation. Thats not supported by DNN.

Check the settings in the database.
