Now back to diagnosis, so we can attempt to fix issues and possibly put fixes in later DNN versions:

a) When you say you can't upload, why, is the upload button greyed out?
b) Obvious question, the folder you are trying to upload to, what permissions are set there in file manager?
c) Do you have any errors in the event viewer?
d) Do you see any error messages anywhere else (i.e. after clicking upload?)

Can other people post their versions before they upgraded please who are having this issue?

So Bob regardless, what about this? Let us know when you can. Thanks...

I have seen the upload button greyed out.  I also can get a non greyed out upload button.  After clicking upload...

had this problem - switch to 'edit' mode instead of 'view' mode.

Did switching to Edit mode solve it for you Bob?

If so I will close this issue in Gemini, as View mode gives a user with Edit permissions the same behaviour as a user with View permissions, and you need Edit permissions to Upload (By Design).

As the Admin modules are now treated the same as normal modules there will be some behaviour changes that everyone will need to become familiar with.  While annoying this is a neccessary side-effect of this change.

Can't you tell I'm not the only one getting bogged down by the slowness, lack of testing and no communication?

I haven't been.  I haven't upgraded a production site to 5.0 yet, but I did do a 4.8.4 upgrade direct to 5.0 in my testing, without any issues that haven't already been logged, and for the most part, addressed.

If you are upgrading to 5.0 from anything prior to 4.9, you are asking for problems.  5.0 shouldn't even be available for download.

Facts are facts.  I'm not attempting anything with 5.0 until 5.0.1 and then I will do a test upgrade and report the results.

Then why do you even care about problems reported with 5.0?  A response like that just labels you as a troll, possibly reducing the amount of help you'll get in the future.  Productive and helpful posts benefit everyone, especially the poster themself.

As for myself, I haven't upgraded a DNN production site to a major release for at least several minor releases past the original.  That's from 2.x to 3.x, 3.x to 4.x and now 4.x to 5.x.  But then, my production servers are still running on Server 2003, I'm only this month getting equipment in where Server 2008 will be installed for production use.
