Hi,

I was wondering could any point my in the right on how to get Inter Module Communication working in controls that have been added dynamically (e.g. using the LoadControl method). I'm doing some investigation into IMC to see if its the road I should go down but I'm running into problems when it comes to dynamically loaded controls. One of my listeners comprises of a usercontrol (MainView.ascx) with a placeholder onto which other usercontrols are added at runtime, e.g. MainView.ascx loads Child1.ascx or Child2.ascx depending on what view is required. In Child1.ascx I've implemented IModuleListener and included the procedure OnModuleCommunication but it never fires. I created another listener module that just comprises of a single usercontrol and placed my code in there and it works fine. Is there something I'm missing. I read a post that referred to skin.vb and the LoadCommunicator method but I'm none the wiser. Am I going about this the wrong way - should I perhaps be listening in my parent control (i.e. MainView.ascx) and passing values to my child controls somehow or is there a way of bubbling events or something? Any tips or pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Norman

What version of DNN are you using. If it's DNN 5.0.0 then we all have to wait for 5.0.1 before this will work.

Hi,

I'm using version 4.5.5 with plans to upgrade soon to 4.9 at least. Looks I'm stuck with using the querystring.
