Hi all,

I'm working with the plain old documents module, and I'm trying to replicate a functionality that existed in our SharePoint "document libraries".  It was the ability to tag a document in some way to notify others that it was "checked out", and then allow the specific user who checked it out to open the document and make changes to it directly.  When they save/close the file, it saves to the site and checks the file in.  Is there a way to do this with the built-in document module?  If not, is there another module/add-in that I should look into?  Thanks in advance.

Right now that is not an option with the documents module.

There are other modules that currently have a "Check-in/Check-out" functionality, but I am not aware of any module that actually allows the auto update via save feature that sharepoint has.

So from an end-user's standpoint, what would be the process of modifying documents that are posted to a site?  I assume they would first have to download the document, then make the changes.  Would it be up to the administrator of the site to allow users the ability to upload documents back to the site? And would the process of uploading documents be part of the Document module or the file manager that's attached to the site?
