Hi,

I'm trying to setup an online store and was wondering if any of u guys could recommend a nice one according to ur experience. What I need is something similar to this http://www.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=42838.

Check out the "Quicklook" feature it has on mouse over cuz i really need it like that and also that i can assign the available colors to each item cuz it's gonna be a clothing store. Oh, and paypal enabled.

Can somebody help?

I have been reading the forums for some time as a guest. I noticed the cart recommendation question comes up quite often. I wish there's a comparison matrix

of all the DNN carts by someone who has been researching a DNN based cart. I am thinking of creating one when time allows.

Hi Tony,

Good idea, The DNN Store (e-commerce) is something, I think, the DNN community has ran away from for a long time.  This is easily understandable when you look at the quality of open source projects such as "Magento" and "PrestaShop".  These e-commerce project are great!...but what many developers and IT managers misunderstand is that many people who want to sell on-line don't have the needs of "amazon.com" and definatly don't have the resources to teach someone the way these open store applications should be maintained and updated with products and content.  Most of my client already have a real shop or retail outlet and simple want the internet to provide an extra doorway for their customers, without making them IT specialists.

I for one would be interested in viewing what's out there as a matrix, but please don't forget to include non-DNN applications as these are the one's that have all the feature needed and thus should be the aim of DNN to emulate.  (And I do believe the non-DNN solutions will blow the DNN ones out of the water!!)

I don't say this to try and move people to other platforms, but to try and encourge people to push for a good "open source" solution for DNN.

In my own simple way I've tried to help this by creating NB_Store, you can find it on Codplex at:

http://www.codeplex.com/NBStore

I'm trying to create a free store that will meet my clients needs and give me something that can be setup with minimal effort (time) and therefore be cost effective for smaller companies.

Dave.
